Michael Marinaro
Partner
Anyone who’s ever watched Michael Marinaro work his magic with an ERP system isn’t surprised to learn that he’s always had more computers than TVs in the house.
With years of experience consulting with clients on ERP software, including NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft Dynamics GP, Michael enjoys helping businesses save time and increase efficiencies by integrating systems together.
An effective integration of systems saves data entry time (from having to double and triple enter data into multiple systems) and improves accuracy of data by eliminating data entry errors. An integrated system also gives business owners and managers a big picture view of what’s happening across departments within the organization.
Michael is both a CPA and ERP systems expert. This unique combination of accounting and IT experience makes him a great asset to clients who are implementing a new ERP system.
Once a system is installed, clients benefit from Michael’s ability to pull practical, ready-to-use information out of complex systems. Hearing a client say, “It used to take me hours to type all those numbers in Excel and now it only takes me a few minutes to run the report” is music to Michael’s ears. He often uses business intelligence (BI) tools like Power BI with cloud-based ERP systems like NetSuite and Business Central.
Michael has an in-depth knowledge of many BI products, including Microsoft Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services, eOne Popdock, Management Reporter and Crystal Reports. He also works in Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access for data mining and application development.
Anyone who has ever worked with Michael knows that he is passionate about getting the most out of any software package. Michael admits that he cannot escape his “inner geek” — ever. He loves exploring new features in products and learning new technologies so he can apply them to real-life problems, or just play with them for the fun of it.
Michael works with multiple iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) tools including eOne SmartConnect to create custom bi-directional integrations between Business Central or NetSuite and other on-premises and web-based applications. These integrations enable clients to use best-of-breed applications to create an integrated business system. He also creates custom forms and business processes for Business Central using Microsoft’s AL development language.
Michael readily shares his knowledge in Gross Mendelsohn’s Microsoft Dynamics GP User Group.
In his free time, Michael volunteers as the president and a coach for Baltimore Youth Cycling, Inc. He also serves as a youth group volunteer for Our Lady of Victory Church.
