When Geller Lighting Supply started a web-based company, they needed to integrate Microsoft Dynamics GP, their accounting and inventory system, with their online store. Geller Lighting Supply was already relying on the Technology Solutions Group for Dynamics GP upgrades and ongoing support, so they requested our help with the integration.
Years later, Geller Lighting Supply reevaluated their warehouse and inventory practices. After looking through their internal inventory and workflows, they developed a plan to reorganize their warehouse, audit their supplies, and analyze stock to improve operational efficiency.
Our Technology Solutions Group helped Geller Lighting Supply select a programmer to handle the integration, then helped manage the project that ultimately linked the company’s Dynamics GP system with the online storefront.
After years of using Microsoft Dynamics GP, they reached out to Gross Mendelsohn to work on their inventory project. Sharon Paul and Michael Marinaro worked with Geller Lighting’s Yasmin Geller and Dan Coleman to develop a long-term plan to audit their warehouse and squeeze more out of the Microsoft Dynamics GP inventory management functionality. Ernie Paszkiewicz of Gross Mendelsohn’s audit and accounting department jumped in to help organize and streamline Geller Lighting’s warehouse processes as well.
The integration ensures that orders, customers
Geller Lighting Supply also relies on Gross Mendelsohn to help identify and implement best practices relating to Dynamics GP. For example, it’s important to Geller Lighting Supply to take full advantage of GP’s reporting capabilities, as well as the package’s inventory management, purchase order processing, and pricing functions.
After the Geller Lighting Supply inventory audit and streamlining, Microsoft Dynamics GP worked better for them than ever before. Taking the time to overhaul their warehouse inventory management allowed Geller Lighting Supply to reduce excess stock, speed up their distribution process, prevent internal fraud, and improve their planning and forecasting strategies. All of these factors reduced their costs associated with inventory management.
“We are lucky to have found such a professional and knowledgeable company as Gross Mendelsohn,” Yasmin and Ira Geller explained. “We could not have accomplished this big inventory undertaking without their guidance.”
